How to Get Cybersecurity Education in Kosovo

Show students that if they want to join the cyber world, Kosovo has educationpaths—both academic and professional—that can get them there. You don’t need to go abroad to start your cyber journey. Kosovo has universities, colleges, andtraining centers that now offer real programs in cybersecurity. Whether you want a degree, ahands-on bootcamp, or a professional certificate, you’ve got options.

02: Universities – The Academic Path

1. University of Prishtina (FIEK)

  • No dedicated cybersecurity degree yet.
  • But: students can join competitions, conferences, and side projects that buildcyber skills.

2. University of Business and Technology (UBT)

  • Bachelor in Security Studies (3 years, focus on Cybersecurity).
  • Learn theory + practice: security policy, cyber strategy, and technical skills.

3. AAB College

  • Bachelor in Cybersecurity (3 years).
  • Focus: building a national cyber community, institutional competencies, risk management, and international standards.

4. Universum College

  • Professional Bachelor in Cybersecurity (3 years).
  • Practical, hands-on approach to defending systems and stopping attacks.
  • Encourages participation in national and international cyber initiatives.

03: Beyond Universities – Professional Schools & Training

Not everyone needs a full degree. Some schools and centers offer focused, shorter programs.

1. Cacttus Education

  • Accredited 2-year ICT program with a cybersecurity track.
  • Skills: protecting systems, analyzing risks, testing security, incident response.

2. Roi Academy

  • 6–12 month intensive training.
  • Industry partnerships = hands-on projects.
  • Covers: preventing attacks, securing systems, protecting data.

3. State Training Centre for Cyber Security (Ministry of Defence & KSF)

  • Training led by local and international experts.
  • Topics: Incident management, cyber diplomacy, critical infrastructure defense.

4. AAB Cybersecurity Center

  • First accredited professional program in Kosovo.
  • International collabs: Capitol Technology University (US), joint labs, projects.
  • Focus: data security, cyberattack analysis, defense mechanisms.

5. ICT Kosovo

  • Professional training modules.
  • Specialties: Ethical Hacking, Digital Forensics, Incident Management.

6. Bit Academy

  • Founded 2013.
  • Short, intensive programs (1–2 months).
  • Covers Cisco CCNA, Cybersecurity, QA testing, Web Dev, and more.

04: Online Platforms & Labs

Cyberlance

  • Virtual, hands-on cyber training.
  • Realistic simulations = safe environment to practice attacks/defense.
  • Used by students, professionals, and even companies.

05: Choosing Your Path

Ask yourself:

  • Do I want a degree (3 years, academic + career foundation)?
  • Do I prefer short, practical training (months, hands-on skills)?
  • Or do I want to mix both—a degree plus professional certifications?
Good news: Kosovo now offers all three options.
