01: Why Jobs in Cybersecurity Are Everywhere

Cybersecurity is exploding. Every organization that uses computers, networks, or data (which is basically all of them) needs protection. That means jobs are opening across Kosovo in government, banks, telecoms, startups, and critical infrastructure.

02: Public Sector Careers

Kosovo’s government is building up strong cyber institutions. Working here means you’re protecting the entire country.

1. Agency For Cyber Security (ASK)

  • The main institution for cyber defense in Kosovo.
  • Monitors, coordinates, and responds to threats across the country.
  • Keeps the official registry of cyber incidents.
  • Jobs: Cyber analysts, policy specialists, incident responders.

2. State Council for Cybersecurity (KSHSK)

  • Advisory body bringing together government, business, law enforcement, and academia.
  • Focus: national strategy, cooperation, and high-level decisions.
  • Jobs: Experts who contribute analysis, research, and policy development.

3. KOS-CERT (Computer Emergency Response Team)

  • Kosovo’s official national CERT under the telecom regulator (RAEC).
  • Detects attacks, coordinates response, supports investigations, trains institutions.
  • Works with international partners like ENISA.
  • Jobs: Cybersecurity specialists, threat researchers, network engineers.
  • Good entry point: internships and junior analyst roles.

4. National Sectoral CSIRTs

  • Teams created for critical sectors (energy, health, transport, telecom).
  • Each sector builds its own team to defend against cyber incidents.
  • Jobs: Analysts focused on sector-specific risks (e.g., power grid, hospital IT).

5. CSIRTs of Essential Service Operators

  • Every critical service operator (like electricity, water, or transport) must have a CSIRT or at least a cyber officer.
  • Jobs: System security engineers, incident handlers for vital services.

6. CSIRTs of Digital Service Providers (DSP)

The private sector is the most diverse playground for cyber careers. From big telecoms to startups, every company handling sensitive data needs experts.

  • Jobs: Network defenders, SOC analysts, penetration testers.

05:  NGOs & Civil Society
